Alena Šťastná
Landscape designer
Graduated from Czech University of Life Science in Prague specializing in development of rural areas and landscape design.
Alena has been extensively working on various garden and landscape projects, mainly in the Czech Republic, as a designer and executive project manager since 2003. She also worked as an in-house senior landscape architect and project manager on the unique project VELAA PRIVATE ISLAND in the Maldives. This intensive and successful three years’ experience led her to specialize in tropical sustainable landscape design and hotel operation management of luxury hospitality projects. She still cooperates with VELAA PRIVATE ISLAND as an executive consultant for garden and landscape design.. She also spent some time in Africa working in Kenya and travelling in East Africa to learn about African flora. She worked at ZURI HOTEL & RESORT in Zanzibar as a landscape manager and designer from the beginning of 2015 to its successful opening in 2019.
She dreams about finding another project in a tropical environment where she can share her professional experience leading to a successful design and project completion.

Philosophy
Understanding of holistic project view
My philosophy is simple and constant in approaching the client and the process of creating space. The holistic approach is my parallel to long-term projects.
I’m glad that most of the time I have a chance to work on garden and landscape projects from conceptual stage up to completion with a great team of professionals. I believe that my biggest contribution to a project is my deep, lifetime respect of the environment and society.
I prefer to learn from life experience, yet life is too short and there is still so much to learn.
The most satisfactory moment for me is when the dreams and visions come true and a guest or client feels the presence of Mother Nature.
